Aren’t Kite Alaia’s boring?
Albert Einstein wrote: ‘Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results‘.
Life is what you make it because there are no hard & fast rules about what’s right & what’s wrong in any sport. If you choose to be a fan of just singularly cruising around, one could argue that the Kite Alaia could very quickly become boring. It’s very easy to be critical when something new arrives and you do not give it a fair chance of proving itself. As Einstein implies: if we follow like sheep what has gone before we could all be accused of being completely crazy!
Stepping outside of the box, being open to trying something new without prior judgment, is an important key to becoming more fulfilled in life and also in sport. That being said, there may well be challenges along the path of trying anything new but unless you give it a go, then you’re done before you’ve even started. At the end of the day, as Steve Jobs states below, what have you got to lose when you could gain so much?
Steve Jobs said: ‘Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help make the big choices in life. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose’.
The two videos below demonstrate that Kite Alaia boards are not only good for cruising but also great in the waves and for sharing time with friends freestyling:
